What Was the Reaction of Critics to the j.d. Vance Biopic “Hillbilly Elegy”?

The promotional material for Ron Howard's drama Hillbilly Elegy claims that this flixtor movie is "based on the inspiring true story." Although I have not read the J.D. Vance memoir that it is based on, the way the story unfolds in the film does not come across as particularly inspiring. To truly inspire, a film needs to delve deep into the struggles, make the audience feel the gravity of the situation, and then offer a sense of hope and upliftment. Despite showcasing a lot of despair and unfortunate events, the film's underlying message seems to be centered around the idea that there is always a way out of a difficult life. A sentiment explored in numerous other narratives about addiction and dysfunctional families.
