The Regime Flixtor is aware that it is parody. It simply isn't sure what it's meant to be parodying exactly. With its lucrative cobalt mines, Elena's nation has collaborated with—or been taken advantage of, as Zubak puts it—by the United States. Elena causes havoc by attempting to work with China in its place and bring her country back together with its former region, the Faban Corridor. Like Putin, she is a Trumpian populist and a germaphobe who believes the palace is full of dangerous mold. However, she primarily serves as a stereotypical authoritarian person who merely informs us that democracy is preferable to tyranny. Which, I believe is a realization that the majority of us have already gained.
